A Peek of the Week Before Winter Vacation!

Tomorrow (Monday) we need to take our Spelling test and Science quiz that were supposed to be taken on Friday.  Since we had the Holiday Concert and computer lab in the morning followed by that super fun foam painting in the afternoon, we didn't get to all of our scheduled work.  Like they say, there's always tomorrow.

In Math, we're going to start learning about money.  That's always fun to learn about.  Plus we'll be wrapping up the chapter on landforms.  In addition, we'll be doing more work with non-fiction text features.

I purchased this No Mess Gingerbread House activity on TPT.  I opened it today and realized that I need to get each student a half-gallon juice or milk carton (I thought we could use the small milk cartons from school).  So far, I've found one carton, but I still need to check my recycling bin.  If you want to check out this gingerbread activity, here's the link:

At this rate, we'll be making these for Valentine's Day.

It snowed about 7 inches; then it rained on top of the snow.  As luck would have it, my husband is still in Florida with his father, and my 3 children are not home so I had to do all the shoveling myself.  It was great exercise, but I can feel it in my legs.  I really need to learn how to use the snow blower.  My sister says that it's so easy - just turn it on and go.  I tried once last year and blew snow right in my face so I'm a little intimidated, to say the least.

I have a kindred spirit in Deb who is addicted to Rafflecopters.  I am, too!  Deb's having a rafflecopter that you can check out at:

Have a wonderful week!

  1. Susan,

You should totally give the snow blower another try!! I used to use it at my parents house and ended up loving it- especially with the heavy snow! And good luck finding the jugs! I have been trying to get empty toilet paper rolls for our craftivity this week...

Also- only 2 people entered my giveaway, so you both win!! Loved your idea for catching the bad guys that broke in! Email me thelandofican@gmail.com to talk about the details of your free product! :-)
