Picking

Right now I am picking out my mother of the groom dress for my younger son's wedding in September.  I've purchased these two dresses and I'm deciding which one to wear to the rehearsal dinner and which one to the wedding.  Please weigh in with your thoughts!

Going

The Woburn Historical Society does fundraising with the goal of offering all third graders in Woburn a trolley tour of the city.  Yesterday the third graders are my school had a perfect day for their trolley tour.  Many of the kids said their favorite part of the tour was our visit to the Common and the Veteran memorials.  In addition to the informative tour, the Woburn Historical Society gives each student a t-shirt and a book with pictures of the places visited along with background information.  Most importantly, each student received a goody bag with sunglasses and a yo-yo!

Wishing

I ordered some shoes online from my favorite store: TJ Maxx.com .  I'm hoping that these fit because I love owls!  In addition, I ordered some wide width walking sneakers.

Wearing

I'm starting to wear shorts and t-shirts on the weekends!  We've had cool and rainy weather in Massachusetts, and it seemed like spring would never come, but I'm happy to report that the weather is making progress!

Celebrating

I'm celebrating the arrival of summer vacation.  Our last day of school is June 19th, and my students and I are all ready to have a break from the school!

Thanks for visiting the blog today!  Please let me know what you think of the dress options!

New Post at Conversations from the Classroom

I just wrote a new post over at our collaborative blog about the benefits of reading as a way to relax and find empathy.  You can check it out here or click on the picture:

 Field Day Fun!

We had a beautiful day for Field Day last Tuesday!  This was my hopeful Morning Message:

The all-time favorite activity is this sponge relay race.  The goal is to fill up and empty your sponge into the container until the ping pong ball falls out:

 Woburn Trolley Tour

The Woburn Historical Society is an amazing organization!  They raise money throughout the year in order to provide each third grade the opportunity to go on a guided trolley ride in which we stop at a variety of historical sites including their headquarters.  While there, the kids saw an exhibit about the 1960's!

Therapy Dog Visit!

My class had the BEST time during our visit with therapy dogs, Taz and Chica:

My students' last day of school is Tuesday, June 26th so we still have a good amount of school left.

If you're on vacation, enjoy!

Fabulous Highlights From Last Week's Adventures!

Last week we had two exceptionally exciting events:  Field Day and a trolley tour of Woburn sponsored by the Woburn Historical Society!

Field Day Fun

With temperatures into the 90's, the kids had a great time at each activity while drinking a lot of water:

As you can tell, this colorful balancing activity was my favorite ~ it was fun and challenging!

Battle Road

The Woburn Historical Society takes all the third graders in Woburn on a delight trolley tour of the city.  One of our stops was here:

It's amazing that an original Revolutionary War path is still preserved considering all the building and development.  What a treasure this is!
Burial Ground

Another stop on the tour was Woburn's First Burial Ground:

In addition to the new plaque, many graves were located using special "radar"-like technology.

Picture Pie

After our Field Day activities, the kids completed this very fun activity based on the book, Picture Pie, by Ed Emberley.

You can find the templates for this very fun activity on TPT!  If you don't have the book, check out these examples on Pinterest.

Father's Day Creations

As soon as I saw this pizza craft on Sea of Knowledge's blog, I had to do it:

Each student created the most adorable and unique cards for the Dads in their lives.  Of course, I forgot to take pictures, but hopefully some kids forgot theirs at school.

Thank you so much for stopping by ~

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!

This is my father on the day we brought his recliner to my house while he was living here while receiving hospice care ~ it was the only time he smiled, too.
