Terrific Style Finds From Target!

Happy Friday!  Today I have the honor of linking up with two fashionistas:   Jennie from A Pocketful of Polka Dots and
Chrissy from Ganola and Grace for:

Background Story

Once a month the Iams dog food is on sale at Target so I do my best to head over there to save $1.00.  In the meantime, I end up at the Dollar Spot which is always full of the cutest items, especially if you're a teacher.  I've already spent $18 for the next school year, and my vacation just started last Monday.  Eventually, I made it the pet section.  On my way to the cash register, I strolled past Women's clothes and had to have these two items.

1.  Pleasted Floral Skirt

I LOVE pleated skirts!  As soon as I saw this skirt in the store, I HAD TO HAVE IT!  The skirt has an elastic waist; it's lined and it cost $19.99:  The background is navy blue, and the flower are small and colorful so I have plenty of tops to wear along with this skirt.

Click here to read more about this skirt.

It gets worse (better) when I spotted:

2.  Gingham Shorts

I LOVE gingham, and I just cleaned out my closet so I have room for another pair of shorts:

The gingham shorts were even on sale so I had to get them, too!

New Clothes Resolution

My new requirement to buy new clothes is that I need to have that "I love this" feeling when I look at the piece.  In addition, being on sale helps.  Moreover, I need to have existing clothes that match the new clothes.  To help keep my closet neat, I'm also going to clear out an existing piece to make room for the new clothing item.  Have you tried anything like this?  I really LOVE my clean, neat and organized closet so I hope I can keep it looking like this!

Happy Fourth of July Weekend!

Background Information

My husband and I were going to a wedding on Long Island at the end of February, and I needed a new dress.  I looked in all the usual places ~ TJ Maxx, Marshall's ~ but I wasn't finding anything.  Plus, everything was picked over from Christmas, and it was snowy and cold.  I decided to shop on Amazon, and amazingly found a perfect dress!

Now presenting ~

I ended up with a navy blue velvet dress that is super comfortable and versatile:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBCBF03/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What I love about this dress is the ruching at the waist; the v-neck; the side zipper which makes it easy to take off.  Also, you can dress it up or wear it casually.

Here's a picture from Amazon:

In addition, if you like Modcloth dresses, it's worth taking a look at these ACEVOG dresses.  The price point is also better.

Well, it's almost eight o'clock on a Friday night ~ time to get ready for bed!  Thanks for visiting.  I'd love to hear if you've ever tried this brand of dresses.

Michelle from J'Adore saw this sweater and immediately thought of me!

Here's a close-up:

This sweater is super soft, warm and comfortable.  I forgot to take a picture of the back, but there are buttons on the top.

Details:  Sweater (exact); polka dot turtleneck (similar); H & M denim skirt (updated version); Rose gold necklace (similar); Clark's shoes (exact and very comfortable).

Don't you just love when you look at a piece of clothing and know it was made just for you?  I'm trying only to buy clothes when I feel this way.

Have a super Saturday!

Outfit of the Day!

Today I had outdoor recess duty, and I dressed for the occasion:

You might remember this sweater from a prior post here.  This time I've paired it with a denim skirt.

Here are the details ~ this cozy and comfy sweater has elbow patches, and it's from Anthropologie where it's now on sale!  The shoes I'm wearing are also super comfortable - they're Clark's ~  found on Amazon.
My denim skirt is a closet staple ~ it's a Jones New York stretch denim skirt (similar here).  I am a HUGE fan of tights - I love all kinds of colors and patterns.  These snowflake sweater tights are old, but I found something similar here.

Well, that's it for now.  Thanks for checking out my blog today.  Please visit again soon to hear all about what we've been doing at school!
