Shopping & A Snow Day = Happiness

Snow days are an excellent opportunity to catch up on blogging!  I'm so happy to have this ~  hopefully once in the wintertime ~ snow day!  After all, I do enjoy linking up with The Blended Blog for:

http://www.theblendedblog.com/2019/03/tbb-asks-shopping.html?utm_source=bloglovin.com&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+theblendedblog%2FxJYi+%28The+Blended+Blog%29

1.  My favorite places to shop include:

*T.J. Maxx

*Marshall's

*Nordstrom:  specifically for special occasions, i.e. a mother of the groom dress!

2.  On Saturdays, my friend and I enjoy browsing in a local T.J. Maxx or Marshall's.  I do enjoy finding something serendipitously!

The "Endless Summer" pillow is from T.J. Maxx while the Baker Boy cap and scarf are from Norstrom!

3.  I do LOVE shopping for soap.  Having scented soap is such a luxury for me.  I often buy soap and a hand towel for a hostess gift.

4.  I don't enjoy shopping for bathing suits.  That's why I've been ordering mine from Beall's, Florida's Department Store.  After all, it's summer all year in Florida so they have an amazing selection of bathing suits that I can try on at home!

I found that hat in Marshall's.

 5.  My favorite recently purchased item has to be my new sweater from Boden.

http://www.bodenusa.com/clearance/womens-view-all/sweaters/k0194-nav/womens-hat-fair-isle-christmas-fair-isle-sweater

When I saw this sweater, it was love at first sight.  I just had to wait until it was on sale, and for President's Day, there was an additional discount so I bought my longed-for sweater!

6.  Although my friend and I arrive at a store together, we do prefer to browse alone.  Plus, I have a routine.  I always start with the sales racks and finish in the shoe department.

7.  One of my best bargains was this skirt that I purchased in Savers.

8.  I don't mind consignment stores for high-end items such as Lily Pulitzer.

Chaus skirt on left and Lily on right!

9.  The best city for shopping has to be Boston, of course!  It was home to the original Filene's Basement = BEST store ever!

10.  I just love the way Reese Witherspoon dresses.  Her clothes are colorful and fun, and of course, she always looks perfect!

The best part of snow in March is that it melts quickly, and the roads get down to the pavement right away!  It's back to work tomorrow so I'm so happy that I got to blog two days in a row!

Who's your style icon?  My maiden name was "Reese" so that makes me like Reese Witherspoon even more!

Currently It's August Already!

Happy August everyone!  Summer truly is the quickest and shortest season!  Today I'm linking up with Anne in Residence for:

Following

I enjoy following Audrey of Putting Me Together.
She is a very down to earth and stylish blogger who showcases a variety of clothes.  You can check out her blog here.

Ordering

Since I've had a broken foot and couldn't drive for the last six weeks, I've been doing a LOT/too much on-line shopping.  My most recently arrived item was a window washing kit from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004FOEOV8/ref=s9_dcacsd_dcoop_bw_c_x_3_w
Due to my tendency to break bones, I won't be climbing on the ladder to clean my windows any more.  I'm hoping this window cleaning kit works like a charm!

 Pinning

I just pinned this list books that third graders love.  I'm always striving to improve my classroom library so I need to keep current !

Watching

A show I thoroughly enjoyed was The Split on the Sundance Channel.  In this six episode series, three divorce lawyers deal with family and professional woes.  If you're looking for a new show to watch, check this one out!

 Counting

My countdown to orthopedic-boot living is coming to an end tomorrow.  My neighbor, who is a physical therapist, claims that I'll still need to wear my boot for long walks, but as long as I can drive, I won't be complaining!

As always, thank you so much for visiting today and reading my blog.  There's still plenty of summer left, and I'm determined to enjoy every minute!

Fabulous Find From Local Consignment Store!

Last weekend I managed to snag an amazing J. Crew green, polka dot  cashmere sweater!  That's why I'm linking up with:

and

Michelle from J'Adore saw this sweater and immediately thought of me!

Here's a close-up:

This sweater is super soft, warm and comfortable.  I forgot to take a picture of the back, but there are buttons on the top.

Details:  Sweater (exact); polka dot turtleneck (similar); H & M denim skirt (updated version); Rose gold necklace (similar); Clark's shoes (exact and very comfortable).

Don't you just love when you look at a piece of clothing and know it was made just for you?  I'm trying only to buy clothes when I feel this way.

Have a super Saturday!

Fabulous Friday ~ Anthropologie Sweater and Comfy Clarks Shoes

Happy Friday!  I LOVE Friday ~  that's why I'm so happy to link up with A Pocketful of Polka Dots for:

Outfit of the Day!

Today I had outdoor recess duty, and I dressed for the occasion:

You might remember this sweater from a prior post here.  This time I've paired it with a denim skirt.

Here are the details ~ this cozy and comfy sweater has elbow patches, and it's from Anthropologie where it's now on sale!  The shoes I'm wearing are also super comfortable - they're Clark's ~  found on Amazon.
My denim skirt is a closet staple ~ it's a Jones New York stretch denim skirt (similar here).  I am a HUGE fan of tights - I love all kinds of colors and patterns.  These snowflake sweater tights are old, but I found something similar here.

Well, that's it for now.  Thanks for checking out my blog today.  Please visit again soon to hear all about what we've been doing at school!

Five For Friday - December Arrives!

Happy December!  Welcome to another edition of:

http://doodlebugsteaching.blogspot.com/2016/12/five-for-friday-link-up-december-2nd.html

with Doodle Bugs Teaching!

 Morning Messages

I only remembered to take pictures of three of my Morning Messages last week so I included a picture of the message that is on the whiteboard, too:

This week we are working on visualizing, and I think this poem has very vivid images - especially around here where the trees are bare, and the remaining leaves are crunchy!

On the half day, teachers had the opportunity to work on report cards which go home next Friday.  It's amazing that the first trimester is already over!

Thankful Turkey

I managed to forget to take a picture of this fun activity last week in which each student decorates a turkey feather and writes what he/she is thankful for:

I love how each student personalizes their turkey feather!

You can check this free activity here.

 Gingerbread Exchange

We are participating in a Gingerbread Exchange which involves writing a letter about our state and decorating a gingerbread person.  We then send off our creations to 22 other classes from around the USA, and they send us their creations.  So far, we have received one gingerbread from a school in Putnam, CT.

The kids wrote detailed and interesting letters - they even used their Social Studies books!

Here's the sad part - I was so busy marveling at their creativity that I forgot to take pictures!  Luckily, two students are still finishing up so I can take pictures of their letters and gingerbread person next week!

In the meantime, here are last year's examples:

Holiday Music From Around The World

We had an assembly about Holiday Music From Around the World put on by Bright Star Theatre based in Asheville, NC:

My favorite part was the Chinese New Year Dragon Dance (picture on bottom right).
