We are back to school!

Hello there!  It has been a whirlwind with school this year!  We have a hybrid model so there has been a lot of preparation.  The good news is that there are students in the classroom!

Miracle Flower
Last week I found this most adorable plant growing from a crack in my outdoor stairs.  Seeing this little flower gave me a healthy does of happiness and optimism.

My Classroom

We are doing a hybrid model at school.  One group comes Monday and Tuesday; the other group comes Thursday and Friday.  We are all online on Wednesday.  The kids were over the moon to be back in school!

We still managed to do our traditional activities:  tangrams; math card games; the Probably Book; and Play-Doh:

The Probably Book is a class book, and I save them all.  Each student has his/her own page that starts:  "I am probably the only one in 3rd grade who...."  It is so much fun to see what each student writes and look back on their pages later in the year.

The Peloton Bike

My family and I are loving the Peloton.  It came on September 4th.  I just did my 10th ride today.  The best part is that it is on sale ~ if you are interested!

Make sure to use my code: 7tvnaq to save $100.  You do need to buy the spin shoes to use the bike, and this savings comes in handy!

Hornet's Nest

This hornet's nest in my backyard is thriving.  It even survived a microburst even hanging from a "thread" of a branch.  It just keeps getting bigger and more fascinating!!

Today I'm linking up for Friday Favorites!  Make sure to check out more blogs over there!

Thank you for checking in today!  I'm hoping to write more news in my blog as soon as I have some sort of routine!

September has arrived!

Welcome to September!  I hear people say that summer is over after Labor Day.  I say that it's still summer because I want to enjoy every last day of warm weather and blue skies.  Plus, now that it's officially September, it's time to link up with Anne from Anne in Residence for:

Making

I made this most adorable sign for my classroom:

I fell in love with this safari friends themed poster at Lakeshore Learning.  Of course, there are matching products, but I limited myself to this poster ~ it took a lot of self-control...

Taking

I love these style challenges, and I'm going to try to participate this month since it's back to school and back to reality.  These challenges encourage me to take risks with how I wear my clothes.

 Discovering

I don't think I'll ever see enough rainbows!  The other night we had unsettled weather when the sun just magically popped out so briefly, and an amazing double rainbow appeared.  I stood outside in the rain and gazed at it until it disappeared.

Consuming

Once a month I receive a Hello Fresh box.  Every box contains a different type of taco meal.  I LOVE tacos now!  I never really ate them before, but I'm happy to eat and make this versatile dish!

I LOVE these chicken fiesta tacos!

Saving

I save too much of everything!  I just spent so much time purging my teaching materials and papers.  I don't want to save so much!  What about you?  Do you save things, forget about them, find them a year later, and wonder why you saved them in the first place?  It's a bad habit that I need to break.  In addition, it would be helpful if I file my papers after I use them.
As we all enter the Back to School season:

this September and into the fall!  Thank you for visiting the blog today!

Remembering September 11th

We started off the week learning about Patriot Day in our Morning Message:

Later that day, we followed up with a non-fiction book written by Maira Kalman about the John J. Harvey Fireboat that came out of retirement to help out during 9/11:

International Chocolate Day ~ September 13th or Any Day!

Every morning I head over to Checkiday to ensure that I don't miss out on any important holidays.  I'm still celebrating International Chocolate Day as I bought three candy bars from the local Cub Scout Troop!

Back to School Night = Success!

Last Thursday was Back to School Night, and my students especially enjoyed these Parent Night Quizzes from Rachel Lynette:

I also love how the parents can leave a note, too!  I'll definitely be using this "quiz" every year!

Back to School Bulletin Board = Complete and On Time!

I'm such a creature of habit ~ every year my student make an apple and pencil book for Back to School Night:

J. Crew Factory Skirts For The Win!

I find that I've been purchasing many of my clothes from J. Crew Factory like this skirt that I wore for Back to School Night:

Plus, they're always sending me coupons so everything I buy ends up being on sale!

I hope you're enjoying your weekend and getting to relax!  Thank you so much for visiting today!

Also, please try to link with with Jan from Laughter and Consistency as she creates a new link-up:  Saturday Sum Up!

Currently and Suddenly ~ It's September!

Hello there!  It's time for:
http://www.anneinresidence.com/2017/09/currently.html

hosted by Anne in Residence and  Lowanda from Sunshine and Elephants.

Watching:  My favorite TV had its series finale recently, but you can still watch it on demand:

tv show turn

If you love American colonial history, this is the perfect show.  Turn:  Washington's Spies takes place from 1776 - 1782 and tells about America's first spies:  The Culper Ring based in Setauket, NY.

Welcoming:  I do love the cooler temperatures with no humidity,

leaves

Preparing:  I've been organizing, cleaning, purging and preparing my classroom.  Everything was sailing along until I fell off a table and broke my left wrist last Thursday.  My classroom looks great though:

Photographing:  My friend and I went to Parlee Farm to pick blueberries and to visit their beautiful flower garden:

Thanks for popping by today!
