Currently ~ Amazing April & Spring is on the way!

Happy Amazing April!  Today I am so happy to link up with Anne in Residence for:

Getting:

Right now I am getting ready for my daughter's wedding in June.  I am wearing this dress, and I need sandals to
go with it:

(Today I discovered this dress on the Nordstrom Rack site for a fraction of what I paid last summer, and I waited until it was on sale!)

Anyway, I did find these pretty blue sandals:

I have them in my cart so we will see how they look in real life.

Going:

During April vacation, my husband and I are heading to New Orleans.  So far, our plans include a jazz concert and an airboat ride in the bayou.  If you have any travel tips for New Orleans, please let me know in the comments!  We are both looking forward to our first trip and both got our 2nd boosters last night!

Planning:

Today my plans include going to the library to get some new children's books to read to my class.  We just got the rug back in my classroom, and the kids are so excited to come over to the rug!  I have been reading e-books on the "big screen" in class so that everyone could see the book as well as social distance.  It makes me so happy to have some normalcy in school.

Last week I read this fun book:

The narrator actually mail orders a sloth which proceeds to sleep the day away.  The "smartest" girl in class criticizes the sloth.  My students had a lot to say about this "perfect" girl.

Posting:

Well, I am posting right now, and I promise myself that I will post every weekend, but I just can't seem to reach my goal.

Thinking:

I love being able to crack my windows and let some fresh air into the house.  You can tell the sun is stronger.  Spring is such a hopeful time of the year.

As always, thank you for popping in for a visit!

Wearing

I've been wearing a lot of skirts with my slip-on shoes.  I'm trying NOT to wear tights for as long as possible, but I absolutely don't like when my feet get cold.  These are my new Sketchers ~ which are now on sale!

Collecting

These days I'm into collecting nicely scented lotions like this pick from The Honest Company:

I've had great success with The Honest Company's products.  Plus, I really do like Jessica Alba!

Making

I've been making a lot of meals on my gas grill!  I love cooking up a bunch of food on Sundays so that I don't have to cook during the week.  These Shadybrook cranberry and jalapeno turkey burgers are current favorites!

Taking

I'm taking my time saying good-bye to summer.  Last weekend I went to visit a friend in York Beach, and I really enjoyed seeing the ocean and laying in the sand.  Plus, I do love the feel of the sun when it's warm out!

We saw so many Monarch butterflies up in York Beach!  They're so beautiful!

Planning

I'm planning on purchasing a cozy plaid sweater, and I'm considering this one from Nordstrom ~ when it goes on sale!

If you happen to scope out any affordable plaid sweaters, please let me know!  I love plaid as much as I love to be warm in the winter!

Thank you for checking in on the blog!  I'm hoping to be back shortly with what is happening at school.  Enjoy the rest of the week!

New Shoes

After the New Year, I managed to hurt my back really badly.  I realized that wearing my one pair of Dansko shoes really made a difference.  Consequently, I invested in another pair ~ and they're gray with embroidery on them:

I bought these shoes on Amazon for $90.00 which is a huge investment for me, but I'm hoping they'll last a very long time.  Plus I don't have any gray shoes.

After paying so much for my Danskos, I was extremely lucky to find these Sam Edelman Circus boots for $15.00 in the markdown rack at Marshall's:

These boots are perfect for cold days when you don't need your heavy snow boots, and they're comfortable and adorable!

Morning Message ~ Fraction Poem

I love including poems in my Morning Messages.  I usually find them on Google which is where I found this delightful poem by Carol Weston:

I put this Morning Message on the Conversation From the Classroom Twitter feed which I do four days a week.  I tagged poet Carol Weston, and she commented and is now following on Twitter.  How cool is that!

More Fun on Canva!

If you haven't check out Canva yet, please try to find time to do so.  Here are some of my new creations:

By the way, I'm on vacation, too!

Here's my house in the last snowstorm:

Luckily, a lot of this snow has melted due to warm temperatures and the stronger sun.  That's another reason this is a perfect week to be on vacation!

Thanks for visiting!  If you check out Canva, let me know!
