Whales Are Amazing!

Last week we stayed at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, Maine.  In the hotel's gift shop, I saw this gem of a book by local author, Tony Viehmann:

If you LOVE whales like I do, this is a worthwhile book to add to your collection!

Portland, Maine = Most Populated City in Maine = Fun Place to Visit!

We took a trolley tour of Portland one day.  It was a perfect day for this activity as it was cool and drizzly.  We visited the Portland Head Light:

We also learned that Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was born in Portland and loved to visit the lighthouse:

Seashore Trolley Museum

On our last day, we visited the oldest and largest museum of public transportation right in Kennebunkport!

Those are my nieces, Jane and Lauren, who are from West Hartford ~ which explains why I took their picture in front of this trolley from Connecticut.  We even got to take a ride in a trolley!  In addition, there are trolleys, subway cars and buses from the U.S., Canada, England and Australia!

The trolleys also have the old advertisements in them:

It's Pumpkin Time!

When I went food shopping, I bought some pumpkin flavored yogurt ~ ALREADY!

I'm trying to slow down time, but it's not working!

Have a wonderful weekend.  Thank you for visiting.  Please let me know what you've been up to these days!

Show and Tell Tuesday - July Edition!

Happy Terrific Tuesday!  Today I'm linking up with Stephanie from Forever in Fifth Grade for:

Affordable and Adorable Whale Shirt

On Amazon Prime Day, I bought several purchases including this most adorable whale t-shirt:

https://www.amazon.com/Womens-Whale-Hello-There-T-Shirt/dp/B01JMYEC1W/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1500410469&sr=8-10&keywords=whale+hello+there+shirt
I'm a huge fan of whales and Vineyard Vines whale shirts, however I'm not happy about their prices.  This shirt was $11.96 which is substantially less that the $30 that I pay for a boy's extra large at Vineyard Vines.

Guided Math Goal

My goal for next year is to implement guided math.  I took a step in the right direction by purchasing this bundle while it was on sale:

King Arthur Flour Truck

While leaving Whole Foods yesterday, I happened upon this cool truck which travels around offering delicious cookies!

http://blog.kingarthurflour.com/2014/09/11/introducing-the-new-king-arthur-flour-bake-truck/

That's the driver in the above picture.  She is unfurling the awning.  Since I was leaving, I didn't get any delicious cookies, but this truck is quite a sight - it has a HUGE spatula on the roof!  Plus, I love the slogan:  "Eat a cookie.  Give a meal."  As if I need any incentive to eat a cookie!

Click here or on the truck to learn more about this fun truck!

That's all the excitement for now!  Thanks for checking in today!
