Currently: Just July and Summer!

Hello there!  Thank you for popping in today!  I am linking up with Anne in Residence for her monthly link-up:

Eating

Now that it is summer, I am trying to eat more vegetables.  My new favorite is spring mix lettuce, strawberries and feta cheese with balsamic vinaigrette.

Feeling

A week ago we had extreme heat:  95, humid, sunny.  Then the temperature dropped to 55 and rainy.  On Friday, I was shivering and put that down to the big drop in temperature.  At night, I rotated between shivering and sweating.  The doctor had me do all this blood work and a chest X-ray.  This cycle started 5 days ago, but I'm feeling/hoping like my fever might have broken last night.  Also, the blood work showed that I have anemia.

Anyway, yesterday I went in the pool to vacuum, and this insect paid me a visit!  I looked it up, and a praying mantis is a sign of good luck.  I'm hoping that I will started feeling better very soon!

Going

My husband and I are going to Block Island in Rhode Island during the last week of July.  We are staying for 3 nights.  I have never been so I am excited to check it out!

Ordering

My daughter is getting married next June which means I need a mother of the bride dress.  I have learned from my sons' weddings that finding a dress is no easy feat.  Dresses that look great don't always look good in real life.  This dress ~ I fell in love with but waited until it went on sale to buy it.  The dress arrived a few days ago, but I haven't had the energy to try it out.  I am hoping for success!

Realizing

I live for the summer!  I love going in my pool with the sun shining on my sunscreened back looking at the tall, green trees and the bright, blue sky.  I love reading books!  I highly recommend this one:

This book kept my interest, and I read it in two days!

Well, this is all of my news for now.  I am wishing you a happy and healthy summer!

Ordering

I ordered this pretty dress (it's now on sale, too!) that I LOVE at TJ Maxx.com, and I'm wearing it to the rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding.

In addition,  I found another dress (also at TJ Maxx.com but is no longer available) that I'll be wearing to the wedding:

J. Renee Womens Davet Pewter 8.5 M (B)Rather than my favorite slippers, I'll be wearing these sandals purchased on Amazon to the wedding:

Watching

I've been watching Bonus Family on Netflix.

https://www.netflix.com/title/80141270

This fun three-season show is a modern day "Brady Bunch" that takes place in Sweden.  There are subtitles so I might even be learning a word or two in Swedish.  Plus, it's the perfect combination of comedy and drama!  Have you heard of this show or checked it out?

I'm always looking for recommendations ~ if you have any!

Cooking

I got a Hello Fresh Box this week and made these amazing Chicken and Pineapple quesadillas:

Wondering

We have an above ground swimming pool in the backyard, and I LOVE going in my pool.  This year my pool just recovered from being green only to find out that there is yellow algae.  Consequently, I have been brushing and vacuuming the pool while getting the water tested daily at the hardware store.  I'm wondering when I'll get clear pool water!

Savoring

Now that is actually August, summer is flying by even faster, and before I know it, I'll be back at school.  Consequently, I am savoring every day of my precious summer vacation!

Thank you for visiting the blog and checking in!  I hope you're enjoying every last day of summer!

Picking

Right now I am picking out my mother of the groom dress for my younger son's wedding in September.  I've purchased these two dresses and I'm deciding which one to wear to the rehearsal dinner and which one to the wedding.  Please weigh in with your thoughts!

Going

The Woburn Historical Society does fundraising with the goal of offering all third graders in Woburn a trolley tour of the city.  Yesterday the third graders are my school had a perfect day for their trolley tour.  Many of the kids said their favorite part of the tour was our visit to the Common and the Veteran memorials.  In addition to the informative tour, the Woburn Historical Society gives each student a t-shirt and a book with pictures of the places visited along with background information.  Most importantly, each student received a goody bag with sunglasses and a yo-yo!

Wishing

I ordered some shoes online from my favorite store: TJ Maxx.com .  I'm hoping that these fit because I love owls!  In addition, I ordered some wide width walking sneakers.

Wearing

I'm starting to wear shorts and t-shirts on the weekends!  We've had cool and rainy weather in Massachusetts, and it seemed like spring would never come, but I'm happy to report that the weather is making progress!

Celebrating

I'm celebrating the arrival of summer vacation.  Our last day of school is June 19th, and my students and I are all ready to have a break from the school!

Thanks for visiting the blog today!  Please let me know what you think of the dress options!

Dresses for my Son, Derek's Wedding

My neighbor's daughter is getting married shortly, and she purchased her dress online at Nordstrom by ordering five dresses; trying them on at home; and selecting her favorite.  I ran with her advice and choose these dresses:

Background Information

My husband and I were going to a wedding on Long Island at the end of February, and I needed a new dress.  I looked in all the usual places ~ TJ Maxx, Marshall's ~ but I wasn't finding anything.  Plus, everything was picked over from Christmas, and it was snowy and cold.  I decided to shop on Amazon, and amazingly found a perfect dress!

Now presenting ~

I ended up with a navy blue velvet dress that is super comfortable and versatile:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBCBF03/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What I love about this dress is the ruching at the waist; the v-neck; the side zipper which makes it easy to take off.  Also, you can dress it up or wear it casually.

Here's a picture from Amazon:

In addition, if you like Modcloth dresses, it's worth taking a look at these ACEVOG dresses.  The price point is also better.

Well, it's almost eight o'clock on a Friday night ~ time to get ready for bed!  Thanks for visiting.  I'd love to hear if you've ever tried this brand of dresses.
