When my brother and his family go away, I'm the trusted dog-sitter for my nephew, Sparty, who has managed to keep growing even at 18 months old!

Bernese Mountain Dog

Sparty is a gentle and playful dog who weighs in at 100+ pounds.  This time I made sure to use my right hand to hold his leash while walking my dog with my left because last time I ended up with a sore elbow due to being pulled.

I know that Back to School Time is right around the corner when I put these letters in the mail:

In the meantime, I'm trying my best to enjoy every last day of summer.  Soon we're off to New York City to visit my daughter, Bethany.  On the way home, we're stopping in Mystic Seaport.

  2. Hi ya, Susan. One of my favorite genres is historical fiction so I Pinned. Friends of ours have a Bernese Mountain dog named Mojo and it is the calmest gentlest dog, even around their twin boys! And lucky you, off to NYC and Mystic Seaport. They have Del's Lemonade Stand there... we have pictures of our daughter Delaney holding a cup and making an eye roll face as we made her stand by the sign... ah, happy days of mothering teenagers :) See ya! 3. Hi Susan! I'm trying to enjoy my last moments of summer, too. We just returned from camping. Today we're off to the pond! Did you enjoy your trip? The kids and I love Mystic Seaport. Sparty is such a pretty dog, and BIG. I added that book to my Amazon wish list. Historical fiction is my favorite genre. Enjoy the rest of your summer! I go back one week from today.
