Fantastic! It's Five For Friday!

It's Friday so I am linking up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching :

On Wednesday, we were so lucky to have our final visit from Change Is Simple which is a non-profit group who visits schools to teach about the environment and ways to save/improve the Earth.  This week we played a life-size board game with giant dice and questions.  The kids got to be the game pieces, and they had to answer questions about subjects we learned about from prior visits from Change Is Simple.

Continuing on with the Earth theme, we made an Earth Day craftivity, and here's Shoshana's almost finished product:

The finished product has three green arrows that say:  reduce, reuse, recycle.  Next week, we'll be writing about different ways we can help the Earth.

We also wrapped up our Poetry Unit by writing Portrait Poems.  Here is an example of a rough draft:

Here's Amanda's finished poem:

We did A LOT of cursive practice, too!  I've been putting cursive on the back burner, but now we've been practicing much more.  I think the kids are enjoying cursive at the end of the day.  It's rather relaxing.
Kathy G., a friend at work, made me name tags for every month of the year to put at my door:

How kind is that!  Thank you, Kathy!

Have a wonderful weekend!
