Snow Days! January Currently!

Here in eastern Massachusetts, we are having a classic nor'easter so school was cancelled today and tomorrow.  I was hoping for school today, but I went to the health club this morning, the roads were quite slippery.  Plus, the weather people said it was going to stop snowing for a period during the day, but it just kept snowing steadily all day.  I'm quite happy to be home right now.

Since it's January, it's time to link up with:

When I was growing up, I lived right across the street from a marsh.  In the winter, all the neighborhood kids would go ice skating there.  If it snowed, we would all go shovel off the ice.  We would spend hours outside ice skating.  The older boys used to play hockey.  It was so much fun!

Where I live now, there's a lake where I have gone ice skating.  When my kids were little, I would bundle them up and pull them around in the sled while I ice skated.  Eventually, they would fall asleep while I skated.  As they got older, they learned to skate, too.

There's nothing like skating outside.

Hopefully, I'll find my skates soon and get them sharpened.  There's a new outdoor mall in Lynnfield where there is outdoor skating.

That's what's on my mind these days.  Stay warm!

  3. Yikes! A snowstorm! I live in FL and we just had wind and rain today! It's supposed to get cooler tomorrow and that's about as cold as we get! Hope you stay safe and warm! I wish I could go ice skating! That's one thing we really don't have here! Glad I found your blog thru Farley's linky! Cute!

  4. A little jealous of your 2 snow days! We started back today after Winter Break and it was hard to get back into the swing of things. There is talk of possible school cancellation Monday due to the cold. I'm in MN and it's going to be a high of -14 on Monday...brrrrr! Enjoy your snow days!!
