Here's an adorable book by Eve Bunting:


Tweak Tweak includes lots of onomatopeia.  I love teaching about sound effect words because they make student writing more lively, and these words can be used in topic sentences to draw the reader in to the stories.  Plus, writing an effective topic sentence is part of our new Six Traits Writing program.


This book also uses strong verbs and has adorable illustrations.
