Sensational Storybook Sunday! Fantastic Funday Sunday! (Another Two-For-One Opportunity)

Guess what day it is?!  It's Sunday which means it's time to link-up with Paula for:

Linky_StorybookSunday

Every Saturday I take my weekly trip to my local library.  The first thing I do in the Children's Room is look at the new books.  Lately, I've been trying to find more non-fiction picture books, and this week I was extraordinarily lucky to find a new series, Jane Brocket's Clever Concepts.  Here are 2 examples:

Bright color and photographs automatically attracted me to these books as well as the math connections, shapes and patterns.

Circles, Stars, and Squares has beautiful pictures of real life examples of two and three dimensional shapes:

My students can always review different shapes as well as the difference between 2 and 3 dimensional shapes.  Plus, look at those delicious pictures, and that's only one of the pages.

In Spotty, Stripy, Swirly, the pictures are equally vibrant and fascinating.

I know that I'm going to be on the look-out for patterns when I'm out and about.

If you want to learn more about this amazingly talented photographer, author and blogger, she has her own blog:

Sunday also means another fabulous link-up with:  A Burst of First for:

I noticed in Deidre's blog that she talked about her children so I'll give a quick update on my 3 much older children.

My daughter, Bethany, just turned 25 last month.  She lives in Jamaica Plain where she works in a neighborhood shop called City Feed.  This store sells food like coffee, tea, sandwiches, salads,...  They also sell organic and local merchandise.  Bethany also does photography jobs when she can:

My older son, Derek, works in Congressman Tierney's office in Lynn where he is a constituent service representative.  He helped a student at Marion Court College in Swampscott with a situation.  This college was so thankful that they invited Derek to come speak to a class about his job.  Derek still lives at home during the week and visits his girlfriend, Kaylee, on the weekends.  Derek is to the left:

To the right is Andrew, my younger son.  Andrew is currently doing a coop at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston in the IV room.  He's studying to be a pharmacist and is in his 3rd year at Northeastern.

I also have a dog, Gabi:

One of my very favorite weekend activities is writing in Gabi's blog which you can check out at:

Oh, dear, now I have to do all my really "fun" weekend chores which I won't bore you with since we all have the same type of chores.

Have a Fun Sunday checking out all these link-ups!
